Your TV Appears To Be Off

If You Are Using The TV As A Computer Monitor

If you are using the TV as a monitor and the Stand-by light only blinks for a few seconds when you press the power button, your PC is in sleep mode. To take your PC out of sleep mode, press a key on your keyboard or move the mouse. The TV turns on.

  • If the screen on the TV does not turn on, change the source on your TV. You may be experiancing a problem with your PC.

If You Are Using The TV With A Cable Or Satellite Box

If you have a cable or satellite box, your TV may appear to be off because the cable or satellite box is not outputting a signal. To test the signal output of your cable or satellite box, press the guide or info button on the cable or satellite box remote control.

  • If the screen displays the guide or info data, the problem is caused by the box. You must call your cable or satellite provider for assistance.
  • If the screen does not display the guide or indo data, change the source on your TV.

Important: There are no cases where devices (other than the two listed above) cause the screen to be completely blank. At the very least, your TV should display an information box in the middle of the screen.
