Question:

How to connect a 3D Blu-ray player, 3D TV, and 7.1 Audio Receiver without an HDMI port on the audio receiver?

Answer :

You will need:

  • 3D Blu-ray, 3D TV, and 7.1 Audio Receiver
  • 8 Multi-Channel analog audio cables
  • High Speed HDMI Cable

If your Audio receiver does not have an HDMI port you can still use a set of Multi-channel analog audio cables to obtain high resolution surround sound from your Blu-ray player.

To connect your Blu-ray player to your 7.1 Audio Receiver follow the steps below.

  1. Using the 7.1 Multi-Channel audio cables, connect the 7.1CH Analog Audio OUT ports on the rear of the player to the 7.1CH Analog Audio IN ports on your audio receiver.
  1. Using a High Speed HDMI cable connect the HDMI OUT port on the rear of the player to the HDMI IN port on your 3D TV.
  1. Turn on your 3D Blu-ray player, 3D TV and Audio Receiver.
  2. Press the input select button on the Audio Receiver remote to select the external input and hear sound from the player. If you’re not sure on how to change your Audio Receiver’s input refer to the accompanying literature that came with your Audio Receiver.
  3. Press the input select button on the 3D TV remote to select the external HDMI input and see video from your player. If using a Samsung 3D TV and Anynet is on, you do not need to change the inputs, it will be done automatically when the player is on.

Notes:

  • When you connect to a 5.1 channel home theater or receiver, connect all the Analog audio output jacks from the player except for the surround back left/surround back right outputs.
  • When you connect the 7.1CH analog audio out terminals using 7.1CH audio cables, we recommend you set the Digital Output to PCM.
  • The front left and right outputs on your player and 7.1 channel Audio Receiver must be connected to hear menu audio from certain Blu-ray discs, depending on disc.
  • If your TV is not compatible with compressed multi-channel formats (Dolby Digital, DTS), the player may output PCM 2ch downmixed audio even though you set Bitstream (either Re-encode or Audiophile) on your setup menu.
  • If you play MPEG audio soundtracks, the audio signals outputs as PCM regardless of Digital Output selections (PCM or Bitstream)
