Question:
How
does Samsung's 2010 Internet@TV work, and how do I create a Samsung account
for my Blu-ray player?
Answer:
Samsung's
2010 version of Internet@TV allows users with selected devices (televisions,
Blu-ray players, and home theater systems) to access Samsung Apps. This is the
world's first TV-based application store where you can download and buy apps
directly from your Samsung product

When
you turn on Internet@TV, some apps will already be installed. There are 3 types
of apps:
Free
to use from Samsung and the app maker. Examples are AccuWeather, Pandora, YouTube,
Facebook, Twitter, and more.
Free
from Samsung, but you need to pay the app maker directly by making an account
on their website and signing up for a monthly plan. Examples are Netflix, Vudu,
and (on some models) Hulu. You get a code when you start these apps, which you
use to link your Samsung device to the app maker's service.
Paid
apps from Samsung that you only need to pay for once. Examples are games like
Blackjack, Family Disc, Chuzzle, Dr Brain, Push Up Master, etc.
To
use paid apps, you need to create a Samsung account for your Blu-ray player.
With an account, you can:
Choose
which apps show up on your screen. Some apps, like MLB, Facebook, Netflix, Vudu,
and Pandora, can't be moved or removed.
Buy
new apps directly from Samsung.
