Power Cycling All Components And Testing The Samsung Wireless Dongle

If you are able to access all other network features (Blockbuster, Pandora, YouTube, PC Streaming) except for Netflix, we know your network is working but to eliminate any network hangups we'll begin by power cycling all components and verifing they are connected properly.

Notes:

    • This article assumes you are connected to your network (Network Test Successful) and your TV is on and set to the input/source where your Blu-ray is connected.

Power Cycling all Components and Testing the Samsung Wireless Dongle

  1. Turn off your Blu-ray player if it’s already on and disconnect your Blu-ray player from its power source.
  2. Disconnect the wireless dongle and set it aside.
  1. Turn off your Router and disconnect it from its power source.
  1. Turn off your Modem and disconnect it from its power source.
  1. Check that the Ethernet cable is properly connected between the modem and router.
  1. Once all components have been disconnected, wait about a minute before continuing on to step 7.
  2. Reconnect your Modem and power it on, wait for it to initialize and boot up completely.
  3. Important: Depending on the modem model/brand a series of indicator lights may need to be illuminated, indicating the modem is working properly and is able to connect to your ISP. The image below shows a general setup of the main indicator lights that must be lit, colors may differ depending on your modem model or brand. Refer to the accompanying literature that came with your modem or contact the modem manufacturer or ISP for assistance.

  1. Reconnect your Router and power it on, wait for it to initialize and boot up completely.
  2. Important: Depending on the router model/brand a series of indicator lights may need to be illuminated, indicating the model is working properly and is able to connect to your Modem. The image below shows a general setup of the main indicator lights that must be lit, colors may differ depending on your router model or brand. Refer to the accompanying literature that came with your router or contact the router manufacturer for assistance.

  1. Reconnect your BD player and power it on, wait for it to display the e-contents menu.
  1. Reconnect your Wireless Dongle to the front or back of the player. A prompt appears on your TV screen ‘Wireless USB adapter is connected. Do you want to connect wireless network?’ using your Blu-ray remote select Yes and then press Enter to connect.
  1. ‘Connecting’ is displayed as your Wireless Dongle searches for the network and connects.
  2. Note: You do not have to re-enter your network settings, you will be connected automatically.

  1. Once your Blu-ray player has connected to your wireless network, the e-contents menu is displayed again. Using your Blu-ray remote, select Netflix by pressing the corresponding letter on your Blu-ray remote.
    • If after performing the troubleshooting procedure listed above the same error(s) are still displayed, click here to go to 'Deactivating And Reactivating Your Netflix Account'.
    • If your movie plays, then you are done troubleshooting.

  When I Insert The Wireless Dongle, I Do Not Receive A Prompt
