Question

How to troubleshoot a Blu-ray player when the MAC address test fails?

Answer

  • Determine if the Blu-ray player is set to the correct Network Option (Cable).
  • If the Network Option is correct, proceed to reset the Blu-ray player to factory settings. This will delete all BD data and settings.
  • To reset the player, turn it on without a disc inserted, wait for the front display to show "No Disc," and then press and hold the FF button on the player (not the remote) until the front display shows "Reset" and the Menu Language Selection screen appears.
  • Use the Blu-ray remote to select your preferred language, and confirm that the e-contents menu is displayed.
  • Perform a Network Connection Test to check if service is required.
  • Power on the player, connect it to the TV using the appropriate input (e.g., HDMI), and navigate through the Main Menu using the Blu-ray remote.
  • Select "Setup," then "Network," and finally "Network Connection Test."
  • Check the results of the Network Connection Test.
  • If the MAC Address Test is successful, no further troubleshooting is needed.
  • If the MAC Address Test fails, the Blu-ray player needs servicing. Contact customer support to arrange for service.
