Question:

What is Eco Sensor feature on my TV? How does it work and what are its benefits?

Answer:

Eco Sensor is a feature that will use a light sensor to brighten and dim your TV based on the ambient light.

For Example: If you turn off the lights in the room your TV will dim if you turn on the lights the TV will brighten.

TV Dimmed By Eco Sensor

There are two reasons for this dimming function:

  1. Dimming the TV uses less energy.
  2. Watching a bright TV in a low light environment causes eye fatigue and can cause headaches. By dimming the TV it reduces eye fatigue.

When Eco Sensor is selected and is set to "On" you can adjust the "Min Backlight" level. Adjusting this level with determine the limit of how far the TV can dim. If you like the eco sensor function but the TV gets a little too dim when it adjusts itself you can raise the "Min Backlight" to resolve this issue.
