Question:
What
is SRS TruSurround and how does it work?
Answer:

SRS TruSurround is a format that is licensed from a company called
SRS Labs. Essentially, the technology takes an incoming 5.1 or 6.1 source
signal and makes it playable over the TV's 2.0 speakers. The SRS TruSurround
technology processes or converts
the incoming surround signal. During this conversion, TruSurround also
adds different audio effects to the signal. After the conversion, the sound is now playable over your TVs 2.0
speakers, one left and
one right channel. When playing audio with SRS TruSurround, the technology
creates "phantom" speakers that appear to extend all around you, simulating
the surround sound without a Home Theatre System.
Note: When you are using SRS TruSurround
and your TV is receiving a Mono or Stereo signal, the conversion proccess the same.
