Cyber
Pixelating, ghosting, and snow on LCD TVs are often caused by a weak signal. There
are different procedures for digital and analog signals. Information for
each signal type is below.
Digital Signals
Digital signals cannot be fine tuned and are
subject to the "Cliff Effect". The "Cliff Effect" happens
with digital signals because they work on an all or nothing principal. If there
is enough signal for the image to be displayed correctly the TV will display
a picture if the signal ever falls under that signal strength the picture will
not degrade, like an analog picture, the TV will just drop that channel.
Antenna
To get a clearer picture on a digital channel
you must have a signal of at least 75%. To check your digital signal stregnth,
follow these steps:
- With the TV on, press MENU on the Samsung remote
to bring up the Main Menu.
- Use
the ▲ or ▼ button to highlight Channel,
and then press ENTER.
- Use
the ▲ or ▼ button to highlight Signal
Strength, and then press
ENTER.
- If the signal strength is low, you must move
your antenna to an area where your signal is stronger.
Cable
If your digital cable channels have a weak signal,
you must contact your cable company to boost your signal. They may have to come
to your house to check your signal.
The Signal Strength Meter does not measure digital
cable signal.
Analog Signals
Both analog antenna and cable can be adjusted
by using the Fine Tune feature. To use the Fine Tuning function, follow these
steps:
