Question:

How can I fix the Flashlight Effect issue on my LCD TV?

Answer:

The Flashlight Effect occurs when an LCD TV screen emits excess light from one or more of its corners. An example of the Flashlight Effect is below.

Have the customer try:

  • Set the TV to the Standard or Movie picture mode.
  • Have the customer lower the backlight on their TV to 7.
  • Have the customer wait, the Flashlight Effect will usually disappear within 2 to 3 weeks. If the Flashlight Effect has lasted more than 3 weeks set the customer up for service.
