Question:

Why is my LCD TV showing a black and white picture instead of color?

Answer:

If the picture on your LCD has no color and appears only in black and white, chances are you inadvertently connected the TV to your video source incorrectly or you have a lose connection. To correct this problem, try the following:

Make Sure Your Connections Are Consistent

Make sure that you have used the same kind connections on your video source and your TV. For example, if you have used the AV In jack on your TV, make sure you have used the AV Out jack on your video source.

Make Sure You Have Connected To The Correct Jacks

Most kinds of connections require the use of multiple jacks on both the TV and the source. For the kind of connection your are using, make sure you have connected the correct jacks on your TV to the correct jacks on your video source. For example, if you use the Component jacks (labeled Pb, Pr, and Y) to connect your TV and video source, make sure you have connected the blue Pb jack on the video source to the blue Pb jack on the TV, the red Pr jack on the source to the red Pr jack on the TV and so on. 2008 and 2009 Televisions

On the 2008 and 2009 televisions the AV 1 and component 1 share a common jack, Component 2 is not set up this way. If a Composite AV connection is connected to the Component 2 jack the image will be black and white.

Make Sure The Connections Are Tight And Secure

Make sure all the connecting cables are firmly and securely connected.

Try Another Set of Cables

It is possible that the cables you are connecting to the TV have failed.
