My
TV doesn't show a picture when I turn it on. What should I do?
Answer:
Follow
these steps to fix the issue:
If
the menu appears, your TV is powered on, but is not on the correct source or
not receiving a signal. To troubleshoot the problem, follow these steps:
Note:
You may not need to complete all the steps to resolve your problem.
- Press
the SOURCE
button on your remote and see if your TV is set to the same source as the
connected device. If it is not, set it to the correct source.

For
Example:
If you have connected your cable box to HDMI 1 make sure that the TV source
is set to HDMI 1. If your TV is set to the correct source and you still
have no picture, continue to Step 2.
- Now
that your TV is set to the correct source, make sure that the cables are firmly
connected to the input on the back of your TV and the output on your external
device. If you still do not have a picture continue to Step 3.
- Soft
reset the exteral device.
- Unplug
the external device for 30 seconds.
- Plug the
external device back in.
- Power the
external device back on.
If you still have no picture, continue to Step
4.
- Test
other devices connected to the TV and see if they are displaying an image.
For
Example:
Test
a DVD player, Game System, VCR, etc.
- If
you do not have a secondary device to test with the TV we cannot confirm
that the television has failed. Please contact the manufacturer of the
external device for additional support or obtain a secondary device
to test with.
- If you have a picture with this device
then the original device is defective and will need service. If you still do not have a picture
with the secondary device, continue to Step 5.
- Replace
the connecting cable with a new or known working cable. If you still do
not have an image on the TV, then the input on your TV or some other internal
component could be defective and your TV needs to be serviced. Please click
