What should I do
if my LCD TV experiences intermittent audio dropouts when connected to a cable
box, PS3, X-Box, or DVD player using the HDMI connection?
Answer
The LCD TV models listed in the table
below with their associated
firmware versions can suffer from intermittent audio drop outs when connected
to a cable box, PS3, X-Box, or DVD player using the HDMI connection. Scroll
down for instructions on how to check your TV's firmware version.

If you have one of these LCD TVs with
one
of the listed firmware
versions, and have the HDMI/audio
drop out problem, you can resolve the problem by updating the firmware version
on your TV through the USB port on the back or side panel of your TV.
Checking the Firmware Version
To check the Firmware Version on your TV, follow these
steps:
- Press
MENU, arrow down to SETUP, and then press Enter.
- Arrow down to
Function Help, and
then press
Enter.

- In
the Off/On
box next to Function Help, arrow
up or down to select ON, and then press ENTER.

- Press
the INFO button on your remote to display you TV's firmware version at the bottom of the
screen.
 
Example: The
firmware version is the last four digits after the second dash. In T-JASMAUSO-1012, "1012" is the firmware
version.
If your TV has a firmware version higher than the range in the
table above,
please click "Phone Support" below and then call Samsung Customer
Care at 1-800-SAMSUNG (1-800-726-7864)
for further troubleshooting.
How To Get the Updated Firmware
To get a copy of the updated
firmware, please call Samsung Customer
Care 1-800-Samsung (1-800-726-7864). You can either arrange to download the
firmware update directly to your computer or have a USB flash drive containing
the firmware update shipped to you.
Note: Make sure you have the model number and serial number of your
TV on hand when you call.
Important: If you choose
to download the
update, you must have:
- An internet connection and an
e-mail address.
- A USB flash drive, thumb drive,
or some other USB memory device.
- WinZip or some other file
unzipping program.
If your system does not meet the three
(3) criteria
above, you must have the Firmware Update mailed.
