Question:

How to troubleshoot audio sync issues on a TV connected to a cable outlet or antenna?

Answer:

To troubleshoot if your TV is connected directly to a cable outlet or an antenna, follow these steps:

  1. Determine if the audio is leading or following the picture. Leading means that you hear the audio before the lips move. Following means the lips move before you hear the audio.
  2. Test other channels.
    • If the audio is in sync on other channels, there may be a problem with the original broadcast or channel. Please contact your service provider for further assistance.
    • If the audio is out of sync on the other channels, test additional UHF, VHF, and Digital channels.
  1. If the audio is out of sync on every channel, most likely there is an issue with your television that requires service.  Please click the “Create Online Service Request” button at the bottom of this article to begin the service process.
