Subject:  TV AND  WAD (Wireless Audio Dock) PAIRING GUIDE

Applicable Model List:

Wireless Audio with Dock Model (DA-E6** / DA-E7** series)

Symptom:

The sound does not comes out from Docking speaker(WAD) .

Sound Share does not work.

Cause:

The TV does not support Sound Share function or TV needs firmware upgrade.

Solution:

1. Check if your TV support Sound Share function.

*The TV model list which supports Sound Share will be updated consistently.

*The firmware update for TV will be done gradually on Samsung website in May.

(The registration schedule of firmware may differ depending on the region.)

2. To upgrade TV Firmware and Use Sound Share

There are two kind of methods for upgrading TV firmware: OTN (Over The Network) or USB upgrade.

If your TV is connected to the internet, it's more convenient to upgrade firmware through

OTN (Over The Network).

B) TV Firmware upgrade by OTN

*Your TV must be connected to internet if you want to upgrade through OTN

STEP 1: Turn on the TV.

STEP 2: Select Menu button on the TV remote control.

STEP 3: Select ‘Support’ in the menu.

STEP 4: Select ‘Software update’ in the ‘Support’ menu.

STEP 5: Select ‘Online’ in the ‘Software update’ menu.

B) TV Firmware upgrade by USB

STEP 1 : Go to Samsung Homepage (http://www.samsung.com)

STEP 2 : Enter the model name of your TV and select "Firmware" in "Manuals & Downloads"

STEP 3 : Download the applicable TV model Firmware to USB Drive

STEP 4 : Turn on the TV.

STEP 5 : Insert the USB Memory Drive containing the Software into the USB port on the side (or rear) of the TV

STEP 6 : Press the MENU button to display the menu. Press the up or down arrow button to select “Support > Software Upgrade

STEP 7 : The message “"Scanning for USB" will show. It may take up to 30 seconds before it is displayed.

STEP 8 : When upgrade is completed the TV will turn off and then back on by itself

3. How to Connect TV and Wireless Audio with Dock (WAD)

STEP 1 : Turn ON both the TV and Wireless Audio with Dock

STEP 2 : Go to TV Menu > System > Device manager > Soundshare Settings > Add New Device > Switch the option to ‘On’ from ‘Off’

STEP 3 : Switch the Function of WAD to TV mode.

STEP 4 : If a message asks whether to proceed with the Bluetooth connection, select "Yes"

4. How to troubleshoot

a) Check the volume of WAD.

b) Check the WAD is in TV pairing mode or not. If it's not, switch the mode to the TV

c) Go to TV Menu > System > Device Manager > and check if the registered WAD device is showing in the Sound Share setting or not. If it is not, follow below manual pairing method.

c-1) Turn ON the TV and WAD.

c-2) Switch the Function of WAD to TV mode.

c-3) Until the TV mode Function LED of WAD blinks once, follow the next step.

- BOX Type : Press and hold 'WPS' button on the rear panel of WAD for 2 seconds.

- Horn Type : Press and hold 'Play/Pause' Key on the remote control of WAD for 5 seconds.

c-4) If a message asks whether to proceed with the Bluetooth connection, select "Yes"

d) If the message next to the registered device appears as "Unuse", switch it to "Use".
