Can Samsung help me with my RS-232 installation?

Answer:

Installers may contact Samsung inquiring about RS-232 (Recommended Standard 232) controls. RS-232 control allows an external control system (PC, Crestron Remote system, etc) to connect directly to the TV in order to send commands (Like Power On, Power Off, Vol, Source, Channel, etc.). Samsung TVs can accept RS-232 commands through the EX-Link connection on the TV.

Important: Some connections are for Service Only. If the TVs manual list that the EX-Link port is for service only RS-232 commands cannot be used.

Note: Depending on the model some additional setting may need to be changed in the service menu. This should only be done by a professional installer.

Samsung cannot offer phone support for these types of installations. Attached is a compiled list of RS-232 commands for Samsung TVs, Samsung can provide the customer with the commands but cannot offer assistance with setup.
