Clean the Detergent Drawer

Question:

How to clean the detergent drawer in a washing machine?

Answer:

Remove the detergent drawer by pressing the central tab and pulling it out upwards.

Take out all components from the drawer and inspect the siphons.

Wipe off any visible residue and clean the drawer and components under warm/hot water using a gentle brush.

Place the detergent drawer and components on the top rack of a dishwasher (if available) for thorough cleaning without damaging them.

Reassemble the components into the drawer and reinstall it by aligning the lip with the indents in the detergent drawer housing and pushing it back in place.

Terms:

Detergent drawer: A compartment in a washing machine where detergent, bleach, and fabric softeners are added.

Siphon: A small tube or channel within the detergent drawer that helps control the flow of detergent and other additives.
