Question:
How can I remove oxidation from my stainless
steel trim?
Answer:
- Sometimes, the stainless steel trim on the washer can oxidize due to certain factors, such as where the washer is located. In most cases, this oxidation can be removed without replacing the trim piece.
- Any cleaner wax that is used for cars or Cerama Bryte (which is used on ceramic cooktops) will clean the surface.
- The car cleaner wax works very well because it removes any oxidation and foreign substances that will adhere to the finish. It will also leave a wax coating on the surface to help protect the trim piece from future oxidation.
- Cerama Bryte will also clean the surface, but does not leave a wax coating to help protect the surface. So, the trim piece surface may oxidize again later on.
- A regular car paste wax will not work because it does not remove the surface oxidation.
