Washer Does Not Spin/and or Drain

PROBLEM 1:

Washer Does Not Spin/and or Drain

SOLUTION :

If your washing machine does not spin and or drain, please perform the following:

  • Make sure the door is fully closed. For your safety, the washer will not spin unless the door is closed and locked.
  • Check your fuse and reset your circuit breaker if needed.
  • Make sure the electrical voltage is normal.
  • Make sure the washing machine is plugged in.
  • Make sure the drain hose is pointed downward. (Natural drain models only)
  • Make sure the drain hose is not clogged.
  • Make sure the drain hose is not kinked.
    • Straighten the drain hose. If there is a drain restriction, call for service.
  • Close the door, and then press or tap START/PAUSE. For your safety, the washing machine will not spin unless the door is closed.
  • Make sure that the washer is not overloaded.

  • For washers with a debris filter, follow these steps.
    • Locate the debris filter access panel.
    • Open the access panel, and then clean the debris filter.

  • Check the drain hose for kinks.
  • Make sure that the drain hose does not form an airtight connection in the standpipe. It cannot be inserted more than 6 inches.
  • If the drain hose is pushed in too far and/or an airtight connection is made, a siphoning effect will force water and air back into the washer.

  • Make sure the washer is level.

*If the washer still does not drain, it will require service.
