Software Update Partially Received

PROBLEM 1:

Software Update Partially Received

SOLUTION 1:

Check if software update is available

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Scroll down to Software update.

  3. Tap on Software update.

  4. Tap on Download and install

SOLUTION 2:

  • If you believe that a software update was only partially received, please perform the following: First, check the current software version. Navigate to Settings, and then tap About phone. Tap Software information; the current software version will appear on this screen. Check to ensure that the last three characters of Baseband Version and Build Number match. If they do not, the update did not successfully complete.

  • Contact the service provider. If a device will not fully update after the steps above, they may have the ability to update the mobile device software at a store location nearby (depending on the wireless provider).

  • Set up a service request to help ensure the whole update gets installed.

  • Perform a factory data reset. This will clear the device's memory and put the device back to its original factory default state. This will erase all data from the phone, so make sure to back up your data first. A factory data reset will not erase operating system software, pre-installed applications, or SIM and SD card data.

To perform one, tap Settings, and then search for and select
Factory data reset. Tap Factory data reset one more time, and then review the information. When you're ready, tap Reset. If you have a lock screen set up, enter your security information, and then, if prompted, enter your Samsung account password. Finally, tap Delete all.
