Washer has a burning smell

Question:

What should I do if my washer has a burning smell?

Answer:

Inspect the machine during the first few cycles. It is normal for the insulating coating on the coils in the washer's motor to produce a burning or unusual smell initially. This odor will dissipate over time.

If the burning smell persists after the initial cycles, contact customer service for assistance.

Terms:

Insulating Coating - A protective layer applied to the coils in the washer's motor to prevent electrical issues.

Cycles - Refers to the complete process of filling, washing, draining, and spinning in the washer.
