Move Files from Internal Storage to an SD card

Question

How can I use a microSD card to transfer my media files from my phone or tablet?

Answer

To transfer pictures, videos, or music from your phone or tablet using a microSD card, follow these steps:

  1. Ensure your device supports microSD cards (not all models do).
  2. Insert the microSD card into your device.
  3. Navigate to the Samsung folder and open 'My Files'.
  4. Locate the file(s) you wish to move by touching and holding them.
  5. Tap 'Move' or 'Copy', depending on whether you want to move or duplicate the file(s).
  6. Go back to the My Files home page and select 'SD card' (only appears when an SD card is inserted).
  7. Tap 'Move here' to transfer the selected file(s) to the microSD card.

Note: This process works within the My Files app only. It does not apply to moving or copying files between apps, like transferring from Gallery to the microSD card. Additionally, encrypted music or other purchased content may not be movable to an SD card.
