Messages Through Third-Party Message Apps Are Not Received

PROBLEM 1:

Messages Through Third-Party Message Apps Are Not Received

SOLUTION 1:

Q: After updating my phone to the latest version, messages through third-party message apps that are set to default are not received. Why is this?

When the device is updated to new software, some third-party app features may not be fully compatible. We recommend reinstalling the app again or using preloaded apps on the phone.

Regarding this case, Samsung has been recently notified that certain third-party message apps may not work properly on some devices, and Samsung has scheduled a software update to remedy this.

Therefore, please check for updates to your phone regularly via Smart Switch PC or FOTA. Before updating to new software, we recommend using the Samsung Message app that comes preloaded on Galaxy phones.

Q: Messages or notifications from third-party apps are not being received on my phone. Why is this?

Please check first whether or not installed third-party apps are in Sleeping status. The App power monitor feature on your Galaxy phone will detect apps that are using your battery in the background and will put these apps to sleep automatically when they have not been used for a set time period (the default time is 3 days) to save battery life. Sleeping apps may not receive updates or send you notifications but they will wake up as soon as you use them again.

Additionally, if you had added apps to the Always sleeping apps list, they will never be able to run in background and they may not receive updates or send you notifications.
