Question:
What should I do if my S Pen is not charging?
Answer:
When your S Pen battery becomes low, simply inserting it back into the phone for a couple minutes will charge it fully. However, if the S Pen does not charge, you can try these simple fixes.
SOLUTION 1: Change S Pen settings to enable charging
It is possible that some settings on your phone are preventing the S Pen from charging.
Insert the S Pen into your phone until it clicks into place. From Settings, search for and select S Pen, and then tap S Pen again. Swipe to "Use multiple S Pens" near the bottom, and then tap the switch to turn it off. Swipe to tap Air actions or S Pen remote at the top of the menu, and then tap the switch to turn it on. Remove and reinsert the S Pen.
SOLUTION 2: Check for magnetic interference with your S Pen
If the back of your Galaxy phone comes into contact with a magnet, the S Pen may not be recognized.
Cases made by Samsung may contain magnets, but they have been specifically designed to fit your phone without interfering with anything, including the S Pen. Verify that your case, or other accessories, are not magnetic. If any of them are magnetic, remove that accessory and then try reinserting the S Pen.
SOLUTION 3: Wireless Charging frequency interference with S Pen charging
Samsung wireless charging pads use various frequencies and voltages, depending on the charging environments. Sometimes, the frequency can be similar to the frequency used by your phone to recognize the S Pen, which can cause interference.
To prevent this, do not use a wireless charging pad when the S Pen has a low battery or whenever your phone needs to connect to the S Pen.
SOLUTION 4: Reset the S Pen
Resetting the S Pen can also help with charging issues.
Warning: If you customized any of the remote features or other settings, resetting the S Pen will return them to their defaults.
Insert the S Pen into your Galaxy phone until it clicks into place. From Settings, search for and select Air actions or S Pen remote. Tap More options (the three vertical dots), and then tap Reset S Pen. Wait a few seconds for the S Pen to reset. The phone will display a message that says "Connecting to your S Pen." When it is finished, the S Pen will connect to the phone and have its default settings restored.
