PROBLEM:
Front loader washing machine is not draining.
SOLUTION:
- If the front loading washing
machine is not draining or shows a 5E/5C error code, ask customer to clean
the drain filter first.
- The drain filter must be cleaned every 3-6 month.
- Please ask customer to download and follow the instructions in the user
manual.
- Or follow the steps below.
- If customer calls back after that, then book a service call.
Steps to clean the drain filter: (see user manual)
Required Tools: Gloves, Flat and wide container, Bath towel
1. Turn off the washer, and then unplug the power cord.
2. Have your container and Towel ready.
3. Gently press the top area of the filter cover (door) to open (see below
picture).
4. Place the flat and wide container in front of the filter
5. Stretch the emergency drain tube to the container
6. While holding the tube cap (A).
7. Open the tube cap and let water from the Emergency drain tube (B) flow
into the container

8. Approximately 1-2 liters of water will come out, if the drum is full of
water, customer will have to fill multiple containers until fully drained.
Warning: if no water comes out of the tube,
it means the tube is clogged or kink, please do not proceed, call for service.
9. When done, close the tube cap, and reinsert the tube in its place.
10. Then open the filter cover (turn counter clockwise), the remaining water
in the system will come out, absorb it using a bath towel.
11. Inspect, washer and brush the filter.
12. When done, close the tube cap If the front loading washing machine is
not draining or shows a 5E/5C error code, ask customer to clean the drain filter
first.
Steps to use the Self-Clean cycle:
- Self-Clean: Use the Self-Clean function once a month and leave the door
slightly open after every cycle to eliminate odor/mildew
Over time, residue from washer detergent (which is made from animal
fats), soil, lime scale, and iron can collect in washing machines, which
produces odors.
Sanitize or Pure Cycle are just another name for Self-Clean, refer
to user manual for the correct name for the customer model.
Use the self-clean function with washing machine cleaner like Affresh
to help soften, scrub and remove any built up behind the drum and in
the system in general.
- Silver Care: If their washer is equipped with "Silver Care",
run a complete "Silver Care" cycle with no laundry in the machine and use
washing machine cleaner like "Affresh" or Bleach. This will remove bacteria
from the washer.
- Sanitize Cycle: If their washer does not have "Silver Care",
run a "Sanitize" cycle with no laundry in the machine using hot water and
bleach. You may have to run a few cycles to remove the odor from your machine.
Not all washers have a Sanitize cycle. If your washer does not have a
"Sanitize" cycle, run a Hot Cycle or Pure Cycle.
- Pure Cycle: This is a cycle exclusively designed to cleanse the
machine. Your washer will prompt you to run a Pure Cycle after every 40
loads, but you can run this cycle any time. Pure Cycle uses 150F water and
spins the drum for 2 hours to break up persistent detergent, soil, lime
and calcium deposits that may have accumulated in the drum over time. This
helps eliminate and prevent odors.
Warning: NEVER run a self-clean cycle with
laundry or objects in the drum. It will damage both your laundry and your washing
machine and may also cause injuries.
Note: Older washing machine models do not
have a debris filter. If this is the case, please perform the following steps
instead:
- Turn off the unit and turn it on again.
- Select the Spin only cycle.
- Press Start/Pause to start draining the water.
- *If it still does not drain, service is required.
