 Question:
Though I set Fingerprint or Face recognition for my device's lock type,
the screen asking for PIN, Pattern, or Password shows up instead of recognizing
my fingerprint or face to unlock the lock screen.

Answer:
When you choose biometric options like Fingerprint or Face recognition for your
device's lock type, the screen requesting PIN, Pattern, or Password might appear
in the following cases according to the Android 10 OS policy:

If
you unlock your device using biometrics (like Fingerprint or Face recognition)
within a 24-hour period.
If
there's no additional unlock operation done within 4 hours after unlocking your
device using Fingerprint or Face recognition.

This
is an intentional feature for enhancing your device's security. You can also
use PIN, Pattern, or Password to unlock the screen instead of using Fingerprint
or Face recognition after restarting your device or if you haven't used it for
more than 24 hours.
