Question :

Is it possible to use the fingerprint when a protective film is attached?

Answer:

We recommend to use s Samsung-approved screen protector.

Samsung cannot guarantee the compatibility with 3rd party products because the fingerprint performance may be affected depending on thickness and structure of protection films or screen protectors.

Also due to the enhanced security about fingerprint registration and authentication, you may not be able to register or scan your fingerprints if you use a screen cover with a bumped or dotted pattern including dome glass, toughened glass cover, protective cover, 3rd partys protective film or thick protective films in addition to silicone cover.

For security enhancement, please use your device without the front cover regardless of front covers shape.

If the general protective film that youre using is not transparent and has a specific pattern (dot, grid, etc.), we recommend to remove it regardless of its form to enhance security.

And you should make sure to use the highest central part of fingerprint or the most curved part of fingerprint when you register or scan fingerprint.
