PROBLEM :

Phone often mutes automatically

SOLUTION :

If your phone has been muting itself automatically even when you did not set it to Mute, do not be alarmed. Samsung has been notified of a non-compatibility issue with some third-party apps. These apps may cause certain sounds to be muted. If you have installed new third-party apps recently, we recommend starting your device in Safe mode after uninstalling the new apps.

To reboot your device in Safe mode, please perform the following:

  1. Open up the Power menu on your phone by either pressing holding the Power key or tapping the Power icon in the Quick settings panel.

  2. When the Power menu appears, touch and hold Power off until the Safe mode icon appears. Tap Safe mode to restart the phone in Safe mode.

  3. If you have successfully entered Safe mode, you will notice the text Safe mode at the bottom left corner of the screen. If the Safe mode text does not appear, please repeat the steps.

  4. Next, uninstall any third-party apps you recently installed and then see if this fixes the problem.

  5. To exit Safe mode, simply restart your phone and it will reboot normally.

Important: When you exit Safe mode, some of your customization options (Wallpapers, Themes, etc.) may be reset to default.
