PROBLEM 1: Assign a static IP address to a phone

SOLUTION 1:

Follow these steps to assign a static IP address to your phone:

1. Find your mobile device's current IP address by going to Settings > About phone > Status.

2. Use a PC connected to the same network to get the network information (Gateway, etc.). Run CMD and type "ipconfig/all". Write down all the numbers.

3. Choose a new IP address by changing the last digit of the existing one, ensuring it's not already in use.

4. Connect your phone to the desired Wi-Fi network through Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi.

5. Tap the network name, then Forget if previously connected, and re-connect. Input the password if required.

6. Tap Show advanced options, then select Static from the IP settings dropdown menu.

7. Enter the new IP address, Gateway address, Network prefix length (CIDR), DNS1, and DNS2 values from the PC's results. Refer to the guidelines for CIDR notation based on IP address range:

   - For 192.168, enter 24

   - For 10.0, enter 8

   - For 172.16, enter 12

   - For others, check your router settings.

8. Tap Connect. If Connect is greyed out, verify your entries for accuracy.
