Subject: Not supported features with Android
R compared with previous Android OS version
Not possible - sharing files using Wi-Fi Direct:
Can be replaced by the sharing functions of following features, Nearby Share,
Quick Share, and Bluetooth.
Nearby Share :
Convenient sharing experience among Android devices (https://support.google.com/android/answer/9286773)
Simple and easy file/photo/video sharing among Android devices thorough Wi-Fi
Direct / Wi-Fi Aware and etc.
- If you cannot find Nearby Share icon in quick panel, go to Settings
> Google > Device connections > Nearby Share
- If the incoming alarm does not sound, please enable Nearby Share feature,
Setting> Google> Device connections> Nearby Share on the receiving
terminal.
- If you want to transfer data with android device running Android 6 or
previous OS, please use Bluetooth or data cable .
Quick Share : A new sharing service for sending photos, videos, and files
with your friends and family.
You can instantly send to multiple people at a
time via Quick Share on Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra.
And Quick Share is
available on previous Galaxy series when upgraded to Android 10.
Not supported - Android Beam:
- Deleted the Android Beam function, which is a web page link and file transfer
function using NFC.
- This feature can be replaced by Bluetooth function.
Not transferring music files to Gear IconX(SM-R140):
- Cannot transfer files using Galaxy Wearable app or USB connector from a connected
mobile phone installed Android R OS to Gear IconX anymore.
- To transfer music
files stored PC to Gear IconX, please use PC manager program using USB cable.
Cannot access external storage memory such as micro SD card when user
changed:
- External memory data is provided to the user only who physically mounted
external memory.
- If selected user ID among registered multi-users is not matched
to the user who physically mounted external memory into device, the user is
blocked to access external memory.
- Ex) Multi-User related service : Tablet-Multi user, Dual Messenger, Knox
Workspace
Not supported - Chromecast device using Smart View feature:
- Due to stability and compatibility of Google Chromecast on Android 11, Chromecast
connection using Smart View is not supported anymore on Android 11(R OS).
- But if user downloads and use 3rd party app supporting Chromecast such as
Google Home, he/she can continuously use Chromecast for streaming contents from
your smartphone installed Android 11 onto external screen, TV or monitor.
Not supported - Instagram mode on preinstalled Camera app:
Due to contract termination of Instagram API(Application Programming Interface)
with Facebook Inc., related features including Instagram mode on Camera and
Instagram shortcut icon on Gallery is not supported on Android 11.
