Question:

After updating my phone's software to Android 11, I cannot locate the Edge lighting feature. Where can I find it?

Answer:

In previous versions of Android, you could find the Edge lighting feature by going to Settings > Notifications > Brief pop-up settings. However, after upgrading to Android 11, this feature has been moved to a new location. Please follow these steps to access Edge lighting:

  • Open the 'Settings' app on your device.
  • Scroll down and tap on 'Display'.
  • Find and tap on 'Edge screen'.
  • Enable the toggle next to 'Edge lighting' to activate this feature.
  • You can customize the appearance and behavior of Edge lighting by tapping on 'Edge lighting style' and selecting your preferred option.

Note: Edge lighting is a visual notification feature that illuminates the edges of your device when you receive notifications from certain apps. This allows you to quickly recognize incoming messages or calls without having to unlock your device.
