PIN for Secure Folder is not working on Note9 device

Question:

What should I do if my PIN for Secure Folder is not working on my Note9 device after updating to Android Q?

Answer:

After updating Galaxy Note9 to the Android Q OS, the PIN for unlocking Secure Folder may not work properly. Samsung is aware of this issue, which may appear on limited Galaxy Note9 devices due to a software problem.

This issue will be resolved with an upcoming software update, which will be available in the near future. Therefore, please check for updates to your device regularly.

Before the official software release, you can disable PIN confirmation to prevent this problem.

  1. Navigate to Settings, and then tap Lock screen.
  2. Tap Screen lock type, and then tap PIN.
  3. Enter your PIN, and then select Confirm PIN without tapping OK. Tap Continue.
