Important: The storage optimization has been discontinued, but below is Samsung statement about the privacy concern.

There have been concerns about personal data and information being shared with third party servers or Qihoo 360 through the Device care and optimization features on Samsung phones and tablets.

Samsung does not share any personal data or information with third parties or their servers. Qihoo 360 Technology Co. only has access to data that can assist with the sole purpose of storage optimization, which includes OS version, storage capacity, and device model names.

Qihoo 360 Technology Co. provides a reference directory for known junk files which helps Samsung identify any cached or residual files to free up space for our users. The storage optimization process is fully managed by Samsung Device Care solution.

Samsung takes the protection of user data very seriously. Samsung takes into account users privacy and security when designing products, including any features developed in partnerships with third parties. As such, Samsung confirms that the Device Care solution complies with Samsung strictest privacy standards and local data protection regulations.
