SOLUTION 1

Two-step verification is now mandatory for all Samsung accounts. When signing in to your account on a new device or a device you have not used in a while, you will be required to enter a verification code. This code will appear on your connected phone. If it does ont appear, it may be because an older telephone number is registered to your account. You can try changing the number and if that is unsuccessful, there are a few other things you can check.

 

To change your registered phone number:

  1. Go to the Samsung account website and sign in.

  2. Select the Security in the top menu and enter your password.

  3. Select Two-step verification at the bottom, and then select Phone numbers.

  4. Select Add, and then enter the new phone number.

  5. Select Send code. The code will be sent to the phone with the number you entered.

  6. Type in the code, and then select Verify.

  7. From now on, that phone number will receive verification codes whenever you need to sign in to your Samsung account.

  8. To delete the old phone number, select Phone numbers again, and then select Delete next to your desired number.

  9. You can also disable verification notifications for your old devices. From the Two-step verification page, select Send code to your devices. Then, enable or disable notifications for your desired device(s).

 

If you still are not receiving verification codes, or if you are unable to access your Samsung account on a computer, please double check the following:

  • Make sure your device is connected to a network and has a strong signal.

  • Ensure your Galaxy device has Android 7.1 or later. To check, go to Settings on your phone, and then tap About phone. Tap Software information, and then look under Android version to see your current version.

  • Make sure your Samsung account has been updated on your Galaxy phone. Navigate to Settings on your phone, and then tap your name at the top of the screen to be taken to your Samsung account. Tap More options, and then tap About Samsung account. If an update is available, you will be able to update your account from this page.

If everything looks fine and you are still not getting a code, you will need to contact Samsung Support.
