Question:

After updating my phone to Android S (One UI 4), there are issues with the 'Sounds and Vibration' settings, and sometimes they get reset. Also, my ringtones and alarms aren't working correctly.

Answer:

Samsung knows about this issue happening on some Galaxy phones with Android S. It happens because of an update called Mainline Update (M-2021-12) from Google. Don't worry, though! Soon, there will be an update from Google that fixes this problem. Here's what you can do:

  • Check for the Play Store system update on your phone (Settings > Biometrics and Security > Play Store System Updates > Check Update).
  • Keep your phone's software and apps up-to-date.
  • If you can't wait for the update, you can fix the problem by doing a factory reset (Settings > General Management > Reset > Factory Data Reset > Reset > Delete All). But first, make sure to back up all your important data to a safe place like Samsung Cloud or a computer.
