Why do dots appear in my contacts instead of letters?

Answer:

Dots were introduced in your contact list after a recent software update.

This change was made to declutter your contact list and provide an easier way to locate specific contacts.

By swiping down on the right side of the screen with the dots, the letters will appear.

When searching for particular contacts, the letters will become larger and highlighted for better visibility.
