After updating Google 'Duo' app, Duo app icon/name does not match with icons/names among Native app, Home/App tray icon, Settings-apps icon.

Question:

After updating Google 'Duo' app, Duo app icon/name does not match with icons/names among Native app, Home/App tray icon, Settings-apps icon.

 

Answer:

  • According to Google's policy, Duo app has been upgraded to the new Meet app with renewed app icon and name.
  • It does not affect with any functionality related. But there may have discrepancy of app icon/name among Native app, Home/App tray, Settings-Apps in accordance with deployment moment and version of the device's SW.
  •  We have already been releasing SW version of the device for this switching of Duo app and if you have not updated with latest SW version yet, please update with latest version of the device SW.
  • Even after updating Duo app, it may be seen still as Duo app icon/name unless initiating on-boarding* with Duo app.
  • In this case, you will see Meet icon/name after opening/signing in(on-boarding* procedure) the Duo app.
  • And some of models still may have discrepancy of app icon/name depending on each SW version and schedule for releasing(FOTA open).
  • Please keep update with latest SW version as per FOTA open is available.

  1. User registered already with Phone number/Google account
  2. User not registered with Phone number/Google account yet
