 Question:
Why does my device take longer to charge when
it's in retail mode?

Answer:
When your device is in retail mode, it comes
with extra screensavers, experience apps (which might not be installed depending
on the task), and demo content like videos and images. These devices are called
Real Demo Units (RDUs) and are made especially for showing off devices in stores.
In retail mode, how the device charges is different from usual because it needs
to protect the RDU device from taking too long to charge. Because of this, there's
a full charge limit, and charging might seem slower than normal devices because
the power used to charge is less. This isn't a problem - it helps keep the device
working well and makes the battery last longer by not charging it all the way.

Key Terms:
Real Demo Unit (RDU): A preloaded device used
for showing products in stores.
Experience Apps: Preinstalled apps that show
what the device can do.
Full Charge Limit: How much battery the device
gets during charging; set at 70% for retail mode (35% for some devices).
Charging Power: Less powerful (4W) to protect
the device and make the battery last longer.
