Question:

After upgrade, app name with Samsung looks disappeared on home/app screen. Is it normal?

Answer:

Yes, this change is normal and part of the new design concept introduced in One UI 6.0 (Android U OS). To improve readability and visibility, app labels on the home screen and app screen now show only a simplified version of the app name, hiding the brand name "Samsung." You can still locate the app using its simplified name or the old name after this change. Additionally, the default home screen grid size has been updated from 4x5 to x6. However, if you restore your apps through FOTA or Smart Switch, your preferred grid layout will remain unchanged.

Affected apps: Galaxy Store, Samsung Members, Samsung TV Plus, Samsung Music, Samsung Pay, Samsung Pass/Wallet, Galaxy Wearable, Samsung Notes, Samsung Kids, Samsung Flow, Samsung Global Goals, Samsung Cloud

*Unaffected apps: Samsung Free, Samsung Health Monitor
