Question:
It fails eSIM Number Transfer from old device
to new device. What should I do?
Answer:
We have verified that some models of DT(Germany)
/ Sunrise(Swiss) carrier are occurring error popup saying 'Couldn't add eSIM'
when trying eSIM Number Transfer by Device to Device from old phone with One
UI 5.x to new phone with One UI 6.x version because of compatibility issue.
We are preparing new SW version to fix the
problem, and before getting the update version, you can use temporary workaround
to resolve the problem.
*Temporary workaround : you can choose one
of them
- Update the Old phone to One UI 6.x version
if there is available update version
- Proceed it on the New phone using with
'Transfer through service provider' not by Device to Device when transferring
(Transfer SIM from another device > Transfer through service provider
> select country > select your service provider)
- Contact your carrier to request eSIM Number

: 1. or 2.
- Settings : Settings > Connections
> SIM manager > Add eSIM, or
- SUW(Setup Wizard) : Setup wizard screen
> 'Connect to a mobile network' screen then Transfer SIM from another
device > Transfer through service provider > select country
> select your service provider > proceed the rests

Affected regions : only DT(Germany), Sunrise(Swiss)
carriers in Europe
