Answer

Connect and Turn on Maintenance Mode

  • Connect the Galaxy phone(with broken screen) to HDMI hub or adapter (to USB-C port) while pressing and holding the volume up/down buttons of the Galaxy phone simultaneously (you can release the buttons once your phone is connected).
  1. If the phone screen is mirrored to the monitor, unlock it with your mouse or keyboard and run the Maintenance Mode.
  2. If the Samsung DeX screen appears on the monitor, tab Apps menu in the bottom left corner > tab Exit DeX to switch to the mirrored screen and run the Maintenance Mode.
  • Run Maintenance Mode to back up customer DATA or Smart Switch to transfer customer DATA to new device.
