Question

After Samsung Health app update, Together challenge does not work properly.

Answer

  • We have identified that if a user proceed without agreeing in the pop-up during 'Consent to the processing of health data' when running Samsung Health app, it would delete the Together data. After that, even if the user enter Together after agreeing for 'Consent to the processing of health data', it is not able to reactivate Together in Samsung Health app.
  • The issue comes from SW logic error. We are working on a Samsung Health app update version to improve this situation, so please update your device's Samsung Health app to the latest app version when it is available. (App update schedule: within Week 27, TBD)
  • Currently, the problem app version is pulled out from the Galaxy Store.

If you need to use 'Together' function in Samsung Health app immediately, please first back up the Samsung Health related data, and then you can use temporary workaround by deleting and reinstalling the Samsung Health app.

[How to sync and back up Samsung Health app data]

        - Samsung Health data is saved in your Samsung Account on the server. Samsung Health app has data of steps, various exercises, foods, etc. and you can back up the data by syncing in the menu.

  • Last synced time will be updated as current time once the process is done. Please make sure to wait last synced time to be updated as current time.
  • Even in case of log-out, device change, updating and etc., once the users log-in with their Samsung account and proceed [Sync now], the stored data (backup data) will be restored from the server.

* Path: Samsung Health > More options () on the top right > Settings > tap 'Sync with Samsung Cloud' and turn On > tap 'Sync now'

  • Please be noted that if you changed your device/logged out/deleted the app without data back-up by [Sync now], the data is already deleted, and unfortunately, it can't restore this data.
  • Also, please be noted that if you changed device/logged out/deleted the app before completing the [Sync now] process, the data could be lost or partially backed-up. Please check if the 'last synced time' is updated as current time to ensure the [Sync now] process is done.
  • [Cycle tracking] data can't be synced to server because of privacy policy, so please use 'Smart switch' app to back-up/restore [Cycle tracking] data.
  • Once you withdraw from 'Consent to the processing of health data', your Samsung Health data in server (S Cloud) will be deleted since user's data can't be stored in the server legally without user's consent, which means, user's data is no longer stored in the server.

Please be noted that the data removed from the server because of the withdrawal of consent to the processing of health data can't be restored.
