Question

The screen looks like a rainbow. Is it defective?

Answer

  • The structure of OCTA shows different resonances for R, G, and B depending on the thickness of the film from the side and the air gap.
  • Due to the varying colors according to the viewing angle, a rainbow phenomenon appears, which is a natural phenomenon.
  • This phenomenon is called WAD in technical terms.

WAD (White Angular Dependency)

  • Physical phenomenon in which reflection and transmission colors change according to the thickness of thin films.
  1. As the organic layer film thickness increases, longer wavelengths (reddish)
  2. As the organic layer film thickness decreases, shorter wavelengths (bluish)
