Both Ice and Water Dispenser Not Working

Solution

1. Any Error Code?

If an error code is present, the water dispenser won't work, for safety reasons, even if the error code is not related to a dispenser issue.

Ice Maker Related Error Codes (8C, 14C, 15C, 20C, 26C, 33C, 39C, 40C, 61C, 65C, 74C, 75C, 116C, 117C, 118C)

If yes, refer to Troubleshooting > Error Codes

2. Verify if the control panel locked (child lock)

Ask customer to touch the fridge or freezer button to see if the temperature on the display changes and if it doesn't, the control panel could be locked.

Another way is to hold the dispenser lever and listen for a buzz sound (water valve or ice motor)

To unlock it, hold "Control Lock" for 3 seconds, (varies by model) refer to the user manual more specific instructions.

3.  Was the dispenser working fine before?

YES: did you move the fridge recently?

The water tube might be kinked or crushed by the refrigerator's wheels, please pull the unit out and test the water dispenser again.

Make sure the water tap is open (tap is normally located under the sink or in the basement)

Warning: Copper tube is not recommended, it might kink or break.

NO: please ask customer must call installer to test the water supply tube and tap.

Note:

For new installation, ask customer to select water and hold the water dispenser lever (up to 1 minute) to purge the system, until water starts to dispense.

For side by side model, if the freezer temperature is lower than 0F, the water tube in the left door might freeze and stops water from flowing to the dispenser nozzle.

Warning: If the installer used a "flood safe" inlet hose (not recommended), the hose will automatically shut off if a there is s spike in water pressure.

Flood Safe Inlet Hose:

4.  Was the water filter replaced recently?

YES: If not installed properly, the result will be low water pressure or no water at all.

Water filter should be in the locked position to function.

It is recommended to close the water tap before installing a new filter, if not, it will be much harder to install the new filter.

   Verify the filter part#: https://www.samsung.com/ca/refrigerators/accessories/water-filter-finder/

5.  Was the door alarm beeping?

YES:  The water or ice dispenser will not work, unless the computer board detects that the doors are closed properly.

If the door is not closing properly, frost will start to build up inside, which indicates that warm air is constantly entering inside.

NO: Verify that the customer didnt disable the door alarm.

Open and close each door and see if they are closing completely.

6.  Is the water dispenser dispensing water, but very slowly?

1 glass of water should not take longer than 20 seconds to fill.

Low water supply will also affect the ice maker, ice maker will produce tiny ice pellets when not receiving enough water.

If it does, customer must call installer or a plumber to check the water tubing and tap, the water pressure should be at least 30 PSI.

7.  If the issue is still not resolved after trying all of the above, then please set up service
