Rust

Problem:

 Rust on the refrigerator door

Solution:

Environmental factors

Rust formation is caused by extended exposure to moisture and/or adverse conditions.

Geographic location, room temperature, humidity, and product usage may cause rust.

Corrosives in the air (e.g., processing plant emissions, salty ocean mists) can promote rust.

Nicks, scratches, or dents make the fridge's finish more vulnerable to rust.

Using harsh cleaners on the fridge makes its finish more vulnerable to rust.

Problem :

Rust in the ice bucket

Solution:

Warranty coverage

If the fridge is under warranty, a new ice bucket might be provided free of charge.

No need to schedule a service call; agents can NCP the customer a new ice bucket if in warranty.

Problem:

Rust near dispenser or brown flakes in water and ice

Solution:

 Examine the ice bucket

Check the ice crusher blades at the bottom of the ice bucket for rust.

If rust is present and the fridge is under warranty, replacement parts might be covered free of charge.

Agents should follow standard procedure for setting up a No Charge Part (ASSY TRAY-ICE BUCKET - DA97-05239E).

Customers must return the ice bucket for further investigation via supplied box and prepaid UPS shipping label.
