Beeping, Chiming or Door Alarm Noise

Problem:

Beeping, Chiming, or Door Alarm Noise

Solution:

Check For The Cause Of The Beeping

Confirm the beeping sound comes from the refrigerator.

Press buttons on the display panel and listen for distinct sounds.

Intentionally leave the door open and wait for the door alarm to go off.

Check for objects blocking the door from closing properly.

Inspect the rubber door seals for dirt; clean them with mild detergent and a damp cloth, followed by a dry cloth. Avoid oil or grease contact with plastic fittings or door seals.

Verify the fridge and freezer temperatures aren't too warm.

If doors were recently removed and reinstalled, check attachment and wiring at the top of the fridge.

Rule out other sources of beeping nearby (smoke alarm with low battery, microwave with finished cooking).

Turn off the refrigerator or disconnect its power at the circuit breaker. If the beeping continues, service is NOT required and it originates from another source.
