PROBLEMS COVERED:
Water Underneath Vegetable Drawer
SOLUTION 1A: Is it a Leak or a Condensation Issue?
If water is present under your vegetable drawers, it may be condensation or a part that is leaking.
To determine where the leak is coming from, please perform following:
- Please remove the vegetable bins from your fridge.
- Please clean and remove all the water from the fridge.
- Reinstall the vegetable bins in their proper places.
- Next, please wait 24 hours. During the 24-hour period, do NOT open and close your fridge doors more than absolutely necessary. Frequently opening the doors or leaving the doors open will allow warm air into the fridge and cause condensation.
- After 24 hours have passed, please remove the vegetable bins again, and inspect the area. If the doors were not opened excessively or left open, the area below the bins should be completely dry.
DIAGNOSING THE PROBLEM:
- If their is a puddle of water under the vegetable bins after the 24-hour period, your refrigerator may require service.*
- If the area under the bins was dry after the 24-hour period, but later accumulates water, the water you are seeing is caused by excessive condensation.
Condensation build up is usually caused by the following:
- A humid environment.
- Frequently opening and closing your fridge doors.
- Leaving the door open for an extended period of time.
- The door seals are damaged (which will require service).
SOLUTION 1B: Check the Door Seal
Door seals help to keep your fridge's doors closed. If the seals on your fridge are noticeably distorted, cracked, or ripped, the seals will need to be replaced and you will need to contact service.*
If there is no visible damage on the your door seals, but you think the seals are of the cause of the water, please perform the following:
1. Open the fridge's door, and then insert a dollar bill between the fridge's cabinet and the door seal.
2. When the dollar bill is secure, close the door.
3. Please pull the dollar bill along the door seal. It should have resistance as you pull at it. If there is no resistance, you will need to adjust the doors. If you are unsure how to do this, you can find the adjustment procedure in the users manual.
SOLUTION 1C: Check the Temperature
If the temperature in your fridge is incorrect, it could be creating excessive condensation.
- Please make sure your fridge's temperature is set to at least 3C (38 F).
