Identifying a Counterfeit Samsung Refrigerator Filter

Question:

I have leaking water, slow water flow or the water tastes weird after replacing the water filter. Why?

Or the customer cannot install the water filter and says it’s the “wrong part.” For example, there is only one rubber seal ring on the original part, but there are two seal rings on the new one.

Answer:

We have updated the design of the replacement filters to include two seal rings on the replacement:

Please only purchase genuine Samsung filters:

  • Replacement filter code: DA29-00020B
  • Samsung model code: HAF-CIN/EXP

To identify a counterfeit filter, follow these steps:

1.  Verify the manufacturing code

  • Samsung Genuine: manufacturing codes vary.
  • 3rd Party/Counterfeit: Manufacturing code on bottom of filter indicates either “A5395” or “A4461”.

2.  Verify that the product has the Manufacturer’s Seal of Approval Sticker

  •    There must be a Manufacturer’s Seal of Approval Sticker (Samsung Genuine Part) attached on the packaging box.
  •    It is always a silver hologram sticker.
  •   Any other color/style stickers are considered as counterfeit
