Question:

What should be done if a customer reports that their refrigerator is making snapping noises?

 

Answer:

If customer states that the refrigerator is making snapping noises, please perform the following:

1. Ask customer if noise occurs 2 to 3 times in an hour or so.

-> Yes: noise is coming from the ice maker.

-> No: Ask customer more questions regarding the noise, as what king of noise and how many times a day the noise occurs. Request a recording of the noise and send to SECA for review.

2. Ask customer is the unit has an ice maker.

- >If customer had the ice maker removed in order to have more space in the freezer compartment, ice maker opition MUST be turned OFF on the display.

 

* No service is requiered, customer needs to turn OFF the ice maker opition or install the ice maker back in.

3. Ask customer if there is water supplied to the unit.

- > If customer has an  ice maker and there is no water being supplied to the unit, the noise is coming from the ice maker

 

* No service is requeired, customer needs to supply water to the unit.
