Leaks from the refrigerator's water filter

PROBLEM 1:

Leaks from the refrigerator's water filter

SOLUTION 1:

When you see a pool of water below your water filter, the filter should be removed and inspected. We'll review the steps for preventing your water filter from leaking again.

1. Remove the water filter and check both it and the water filter housing for damage.

  • If the water filter looks damaged or is not a genuine Samsung filter, replace the water filter.

  • If the water filter housing is damaged, or the leak continues with the filter removed, request service.

There are two ways to determine if a filter is genuine:

  • Genuine water filters have a serial number marked on the filter's body. Counterfeit filters do not.

  • Genuine water filters have a rib on the filter body. Counterfeit ones do not.

2. Clean up the water and reinsert the filter. If the leak occurs again, replace the water filter with a Samsung brand filter.

3. If the leak still continues with a new filter, request service.
