Question:

How to handle Samsung Smart TV error codes?

 

Answer:

There are some error codes that may appear on a customer's TV, usually when using the network functions on their TV. An error Code will look like this;

Important: If the error code does not appear in a box like in the image above, or is on listed in the chart below,  it is possible that the error message is not from the TV but the connected external device;

  1. Have the customer take a picture and send it to, LEDTVfeedback@sea.samsung.com
  2. Have the customer contact their external devices manufacturer for further assistance.

If the error code is generated by the TV, not an external device, it should look something like the above image. It will be in a box that resembles the same menu style that the TV uses. Below you will find a chart with the most common error codes, what they indicate, and possible solutions.

 

Note: These error codes are specific to Samsung Smart TVs and their respective network functions. For more detailed explanations of technical terms, please refer to the glossary below:

 

Terms:

 

Firmware - Software that controls the TV's hardware operations

Update via USB - Using a USB flash drive to transfer updated software files directly to the TV

Model grouping/mapping - Associating different models of TVs with their corresponding software updates

Internal memory - Storage space within the TV for temporary data and settings

Factory reset - Restoring the TV to its default settings, erasing all user data and preferences

Network connection - Establishing a link between the TV and a home network or the internet

The network firmware has not been registered on the server yet.

Have customer perform firmware update via a USB thumb drive.

Model grouping or mapping Error

This is a mistake on our server and we will need to correct it, attempt update later.

Failure to distribute the memory at TV

Have the customer clear the internal memory of TV (this can be done with a factory reset click here to see "How To Perform A Factory Reset") or perform update via a USB thumb drive.

Connection Error

Operation Timeout Error
